Ludlow - Donald E. Clare, 83, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, February 16, 2025. A proud United States Navy veteran, Clare was known for his commitment to duty and integrity. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to his work as a respected meat packer at Bluegrass Meats, earning a reputation for his strong work ethic and camaraderie. Clare held past membership at American Legion Post 203 in Latonia, fostering lasting friendships with fellow veterans. He found joy in simple pleasures, such as playing BINGO, cards, and golf. Survived by his wife Nancy Clare, daughter Sandra McNabb, sons Kevin Yates, Michael, and Jeff Clare, along with seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Scott Clare, parents Phillip and Martha Clare, sister Betty McCauley, brothers Tom, John, Jim, Joe, Richard, and Norman Clare, and sister-in-law Alma Clare. Visitation and service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home in Ludlow, with interment at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in California, Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be made to The Point Arc Serving Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati or St. Elizabeth Hospice Center.
