Reading proficiency in the school rose 12% compared to the previous school year, when 43% of students were considered ready for post-secondary education.
For comparison, 44% of students across Kentucky met or exceeded ACT benchmarks in reading during 2022-23 school year.
Beyond reading, 74% of students Ludlow High School met the English college readiness benchmarks in the 2022-23 school year. Additionally, 49% were considered college-ready in math.
Ludlow High School is the only school located in Ludlow Independent School District.
In 2024, Kentucky ranked third among states testing 100% of their students on the ACT, with an average score of 18.6. However, NAEP scores indicate that Kentucky students have performed slightly worse in core subjects since 2019, particularly in math, where proficiency has dropped by nearly 10%.
